DON MILLS TORONTO, ONTARIO was established by  E.P.Taylor, one of Canada’s most powerful Businessmen.  He acquired over 2,000 acres of Farmland in Don Mills amidst a housing shortage after WWII.  His mission was to transform this farmland and  develop DON MILLS as Canada’s First Planned Community with 28,000 Residences, Industries, a Surburban Shopping Plaza, Schools and Recreation Facilities.  This was North America's first Land Development of its kind.  With the natural landscape of  the Don River,  Rolling Hills and Ravines, DON MILLS was the perfect fit for this kind of Planned Modernist Community where Neighbourhoods are isolated from Heavy Traffic by winding roads and cul-de-sacs.
